Former Ontario fire chief accused of 26 more sex offences

PAT CAYEN, 53, OF SARNIA, SIFTS THROUGH DOCUMENTS AT HIS OFFICE FRIDAY, FEB. 17, 2012.

QMI AGENCY
SARNIA, ON - This southern Ontario city's former fire chief faces 26 new sex-related criminal offences.Police say Patrick Cayen, 54, was arrested Monday morning on the new charges, which predate those already before the courts.
Three new alleged victims came forward as a result of the ongoing investigation.
He was released on conditions, which include having no contact with anyone under age 16. He will appear in court on Tuesday.
Cayen was initially charged in November with 28 counts of sexual assault, including 11 counts of sexual interference and four counts of invitation of touching for a sexual purpose.
A publication ban prohibits identifying the time frame and location of the offences.
The City of Sarnia fired Cayen on Jan. 10 because "pending charges have compromised his ability to carry out his duties."
The city's two deputy fire chiefs will continue operating the department.
Cayen, originally from Sudbury, ON became Sarnia's fire chief in October 2005.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
