Man Strangled Girlfriend With His Dreadlocks

A man allegedly used his long tresses to choke his girlfriend during an assault in a Southeast Portland home Monday, police say.
Officers were called about 2:30 a.m., to the 3200 block of Southeast 22nd Avenue and later found 32-year-old Caleb Grotberg based on his girlfriend's description, which included that he has long, thick hair that look like dreadlocks.
The woman was taken to a hospital in the area with several non-life threatening injuries, police said. Her condition and identity have not been released.
Grotberg was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on domestic violence-related charges including kidnapping, attempted assault, assault, menacing and strangulation.
