James and Barbara McCall, from Hillcrest, KwaZulu-Natal, in South Africa have been victims of five burglaries and a robbery at their guesthouse.

In the latest incident, Mrs McCall's Samsung tablet was taken while they were away for a weekend break.

On discovering the theft the following morning, Mr McCall set to change his login passwords for Facebook and other sites.

It was then that he noticed that a man's picture had been uploaded on his wife's Facebook page.

He suspects it must be that of one the thieves.

"He probably did not realise he was doing it," Mr McCall told the Star daily.

"Usually you never log off from a tablet, so it could have happened quite quickly."

They have passed the pictures on to the authorities in the hope it could help them apprehend the suspects.

On the five break-ins, Mr McCall said: "We have never recovered any of the items ... We have reported the incidents to police but we are still waiting. It's unacceptable that I no longer feel safe on my own verandah."

On Mrs McCall's Facebook page, she wrote: "With 9 dogs on the property not even Biscuit the yapper make a sound, we can be thankful that they didn't attack any of us. There is something strange going on as this is now our fifth robbery in 8 months despite having spent a fortune on electric fencing."
