TTC users should be praised - not penalized - for doing the right thing; using public transit.

Tell City Council to say no to the unfair fare increase; become a lifetime TTCriders member

On Jan. 15 to 17, Toronto City Council will vote on whether to approve a TTC budget that includes a five cent TTC fare increase.  That’s a staggering $30 yearly increase for us regular users!
Tell your City Councillor to say no to this unfair fare increase.
Dial 311 and speak to your City Councillor or send City Hall an email message.
We do not have to choose between increased fares and service cuts.  That’s a false choice.  The city has a budget surplus and can redirect funding to the TTC’s operating budget.  City Councillors must also contact the Province and urge them to contribute their fair share to the TTC’s operating costs.
The TTC has a dramatically lower subsidy than any other jurisdiction in Canada and the U.S.  City Hall pays just $0.87 per rider. Other subsidies range from $1.25 per rider in New York City to $5.16 in York Region, our neighbours to the north.
