Accused in New York hit-and-run has previous murder conviction

Accused in NY hit-and-run has previous murder convictionThe man suspected in the hit-and-run death of an expectant New York couple and their baby over the weekend has already been convicted of murder once, reports say.
Police allege Julio Acevedo, 44, was behind the wheel of the BMW that smashed into a taxi carrying Nachman and Raizy Glauber, both, 21, who were on their way to hospital early Sunday to deliver their first baby.
There were hopes the child might survive the crash after the baby boy was delivered by emergency C-section and taken to hospital, but he died Monday morning.
The driver and the passenger in the BMW fled the scene on foot.
Acevedo was imprisoned for the 1987 murder of Kelvin Martin - described by the New York Post as "the original 50 Cent" and inspiration for the rapper of the same name.
Last month, he was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
