Man shot dead, another stabbed to death in Toronto

Toronto police are searching for suspects in a deadly Scarborough shooting Thursday night as well as a fatal stabbing in the city’s north end.

Toronto police are investigating after a man was shot dead in the city’s east end and a man was fatally stabbed in the north end on Thursday night.
Officers were called to a housing complex near Morningside Ave. and Old Finch Rd. after shots rang out near a playground, police say.
The victim, a male in his early 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told police they saw three to four men fleeing the complex known as Forest Creek Pathway.
Officers were scouring the neighbourhood for evidence late Thursday night.
Police are also investigating another murder in the city.
In a separate incident, another man in his 20s was stabbed to death in North York.
The victim was attacked around 9 p.m. on Bogert Ave. near Yonge St. and Sheppard Ave., police say.
There is no word on suspects, and police have yet to release his name.
