Burglar caught cooking breakfast forhimself in Vancouver home

Vancouver police are investigating the bizarre break-of a burglar cooking breakfast in the buff in east Vancouver on Tuesday night.
Const. Brian Montague, a spokesman for the VPD, said at about 7 p.m., the resident of a home in east Vancouver found a man in his kitchen, cooking eggs.
When confronted, the suspect fled from the home.
But Montague said police believe the suspect was in the home for up to 25 minutes, and had even taken a shower before being discovered in the kitchen.
Police were called, and a 30-year-old Burnaby man was arrested a short distance away.
The man is facing charges of being unlawfully in a dwelling house.
There have been 1,157 residential break-and-enters in Vancouver so far this year.
Montague said with the warmer weather, more people leave their windows and doors open.
“Ensuring your doors and windows are locked is a simple deterrent,” said Montague.
