Ottawa hospital security guard guilty of sex assault on a intellectually-disabled woman

OTTAWA - A jury has convicted an Ottawa Hospital security guard for molesting an intellectually-disabled woman.
Jurors found Clinton Russell guilty of sexual assault and sexual exploitation Friday.
The woman, who is in her 20s but has the mind of a child, accused Russell of getting her to perform fellatio on him at the Civic campus of the hospital on Dec. 23, 2011. Despite a lack of DNA evidence and at times shifting testimony from the vulnerable victim, Crown prosecutor Suzanne Schriek convinced the jury that she had been truthful on the stand.
The jury struggled for three days to reach a verdict. They were not told that Russell is also accused in connection with a similar sex assault; that trial is to take place in January.
Schriek asked for Clinton's bail to be revoked; counsel will argue the matter Friday morning.
