Check Out The most popular baby names in Ontario

By
"Congratulations on Liam, your new baby boy!"
Write that in a Christmas card and you'll have the best odds of being right – statistically, at least.
In 2012, Liam was the most popular name for boys born in Ontario for the second year in a row, according to data released by the province Thursday.
Ethan, Jacob and Lucas were also popular picks in spots two through four, identical to the previous year.
Benjamin snagged the fifth spot.
For the sixth year running, Olivia remained unchallenged as the most popular name for girls born in Ontario.
The list of girls names was almost unchanged from last year – Emma, Sophia and Ava held on to their respective second, third and fourth spots.
Longtime-favourite Emily moved up a spot from sixth last year, knocking Isabella from the top five.
There's a fair bit of overlap between the most popular baby names in Ontario and the U.S.
For U.S. baby girls, Sophia, Emma, Olivia and Ava all make the cut, although Olivia comes in fourth.
But boys' names are a little different. While Jacob takes the throne south of the border, Mason, Ethan, Noah and William fill out the top five.
Hopefully this improves your chances of getting the right name in your Christmas card – although, really, it's probably safer to just ask.
