LT. Lotto Bio
Hip Hop legend, Nas once said, “I can't control what people think. They know who I am.” That aforementioned statement is simple in it’s context yet profound in it’s meaning and it speaks to the very essence of hip hop artist, Lt. Lotto. The rare ability to think or express oneself in an independent and individual manner is becoming more and more of a lost art in the world of hip hop but it’s something Lotto prides himself on. Hailing from the Southend of Stratford, CT, the east coast emcee knows exactly who he is as he is poised to bring something to the game that has been missing for a while.
After making some noise in the industry with his concrete laced verses on the “Pay Homage” mixtape featuring him and The Jawns and his much talked about appearance on the critically acclaimed DEMOS Documentary Film Soundtrack, it was only destiny that Lt. Lotto would be chosen as a feature on the "CT Against The World DVD Vol 3," which highlights elite talent coming out of the CT area. With a game changing project in the works, unwavering passion, wicked word play, move the crowd mentality, street savvy, and a tenacioiusly tactical team, Lt. Lotto is on a relentless mission to revolutionize the face of what the world considers hip hop.
Lotto, who considers himself to be a poet, embodies some of the legends in art and life. In the poem, “Mother to Son,” Langton Hughes writes, “Well, son, I’ll tell you:
Life for me ain’t been no crystal stair…” Those are sentiments the CT native can relate to and embrace. Known to his family as Terrance Drish, Lotto watched his mother struggle to raise 5 children on her own after she divorced his father. In his own words he reflects powerful imagery of his childhood just as he does in his music, “I recall plenty of nights that I could remember going to bed hungry. I know what it's like to have to wear hand me down clothes and sneakers to school, coming home to no lights, heat, hot water at times, and no food in the fridge.  We didn't have much but we were taught to be grateful for what we did have because somebody out there in the world got it 10 times worse than me.” A young Terrance found solace in poetry, music, and at the age of 11 he began to experiment with putting words to beats while mastering the art of freestyle. Mesmorized by Wu-Tang, he began to see music as not just enjoyable but also as a viable way to convey his thoughts, get his message out to the world, and alleviate his stress.
That aforementioned stress, joy, and pain is now the driving force behind his music and mission.  Influenced by the likes of Big L, Tupac, Method Man, Kool G Rap, Kanye West, DMX, and 50 cent, Lt. Lotto exemplifies the greastest qualities of his predecessors while standing on his own principles.  Elite lyrisim, veteran savvy, and stunning stage presence have allowed him to rock venues from Philly to Connecticut and all places in between. The world needs to prepare as this verbal asssassin is in the lab loading up the chamber to blast a few holes of orginality into an industry that has become a bit consumed with mockery, imitation, and unoriginality.
The rare ability to think or express oneself in an independent and individual manner can simply be expressed as originality, which is the true essence behind any form of art.  It is that innovative type of thinking that defines Lt. Lotto as an artist. His gritty street sound accompanied by his aggressive style, thought provoking  verses, and “I’m doing me” persona has Lt. Lotto in the perfect position to etch his legacy into the fabric of hip hop society. He knows who he is and soon the world will know the name Lt. Lotto.
