Bill C-51 Passed - URGENT: Fight Back to Repeal

Recently, the Conservative Government passed Bill C-51 through Parliament — a dangerous attack on our fundamental rights and freedoms as Canadians.
Sign the Broadbent Institute's Petition to Repeal Bill C-51

That's why the Broadbent Institute wants you to tell federal party leaders you expect them to honour the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and repeal this scary law.
The Broadbent Institute is Canada's leading, non-partisan, progressive think tank designed to champion change through the promotion of democracy, equality, sustainability and training.
Bill C-51 grants new police-like powers to the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), including powers of "preventative detention" for those who have not even committed a crime. Government agencies could conduct activities that violate Charter rights, all in the name of protecting us from terrorism.
But Bill C-51 doesn't do what is intended. Instead, it puts your privacy at risk and paves the way for censorship and grave civil rights violations. By passing Bill C-51, they've crossed out the rights and freedoms granted in the Charter.
As a Canadian citizen concerned for my rights, I'm standing with the Broadbent Institute to call for the repeal of Bill C-51. Stand up for your rights and sign the petition with me today!
With determination, engaged citizens like you and me can prevail.
Thank you for making a difference,
 Alex B.
