Dad charged in case that sparked Amber Alert from Toronto but what is the root cause of why this happened

A Toronto man has now been charged for allegedly
abducting his daughter from her mom’s house in Aurora on
Monday.

No information has been provided as to the situation around
the custody of the child and who had it and if the family court
system had been involved with any orders, as well no details
in regards to the child's right to see her father.

York Regional Police announced the charges Thursday —
days after the alleged kidnapping sparked a province-wide
Amber Alert.
At around 4:20 a.m. Monday, police say the suspect forced
his way into the home of the mother of his child, assaulted
the woman, and then fled
with their four-year-old
daughter in
a minivan.
Several hours after the
Amber Alert was issued,
OPP
officers spotted the minivan
about 360 km away in
Pembroke and arrested the man and rescued the girl after
their vehicle rolled over. Both father and daughter were
taken to hospital in non-life-threatening condition.
The girl has since been released. As of Thursday afternoon,
her father remained in hospital.
Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is probing the crash.
The 35-year-old accused is charged with abduction  two
counts of assault, and break and enter.
