SUV crashes into Stop n' Go convenience store at Bathurst and Harbord in Toronto

Bathurst Street closed in both directions from Harbord Street to Ulster Street as police investigate

An SUV crashed into the Stop 'n' Go convenience store at Bathurst and Harbord streets after hitting a pole Thursday afternoon at the intersection.

Police say they were called to the scene just before 2 p.m. Thursday for reports about a vehicle that crashed into a traffic standard.
Const. Clint Stibbe told CBC News the car was going westbound on Harbord approaching Bathurst when it crossed the centre line, jumped the curb on the south sidewalk and struck the pole.
Stibbe said the SUV hit another vehicle that was attempting to make a u-turn and continued westbound "at a high rate of speed."
When it hit the pole, the vehicle was sent spinning, it's back crashing into the front of the store. The pole was also broken in the collision.
Paramedics say they took two people to hospital with injuries that are not serious.
Police are also trying to determine if a second collision, at Harbord Street and Brunswick Avenue, is related.
Bathurst Street is closed in both directions from Harbord Street to Ulster Street as police investigate.
Harbord Street is also closed eastbound and westbound at Bathurst Street.
