SIU called in after police-involved shooting near Yonge and Dundas

The province's Special Investigations Unit has been called in to probe a police-involved shooting near Yonge and Dundas streets this morning.
The circumstances around the shooting have not been released but paramedics say one person was rushed to a trauma centre in serious condition after sustaining a gunshot wound to the torso.
Dundas Street has been shut down between Yonge and Bay streets this morning for the investigation.
The 505 Dundas streetcars will be diverting eastbound via Bathurst Street, College Street and Church Street. The 506 College streetcars will be diverting westbound via Parliament Street, Queen Street, and Spadina Avenue.
The SIU is an arm's length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
Investigators are expected to provide an update on the incident at some point this morning.
