SIU charges Toronto cop with sexual assault that happened in 2008
The province’s Special Investigations Unit has charged a Toronto Police constable with sexual assault.
The SIU says that in Sept. 2008, a 28-year-old woman was sexually assaulted.
The agency was made aware of the allegations in Jan. 2016. Other circumstances of the alleged assault have not been disclosed.
As a result, Const. Vincent Bonazza has been charged with one count of sexual assault.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 26 at 1000 Finch Avenue West.
The SIU is called to investigate any interaction between an Ontario police officer and a member of the public that results in death, serious injury or an allegation of sexual assault.
